Ending Streaming in Aotearoa 2025

We're on the road to Tāmaki Makaurau! 

March 28 we will be at the Auckland Airport Sudima Hotel in Tāmaki Makaurau. 

The purpose of the workshop is to provide attendees with the tools they will need to shift their schools and kura away from the practice of streaming. It does not matter where your school is on the destreaming journey, we think this workshop is a great opportunity for PLD and networking for positive change.

We know it won't happen overnight, but there is plenty of research to share and we have plenty of tools and resources to help you make it happen. 

The outline of the wānanga is: 

• Session 1: The ‘why’ – Aotearoa New Zealand and international research 
• Session 2: The ‘how’ – Case Studies of how schools have approached it and an introduction to the PPTA Change Management Toolkit 
• Session 3: Afternoon group work on next steps and planning including setting up ‘buddy' networks and collaborations. 

We will be opening with a keynote speaker who will set the tone of the day.

Costs

There is no cost for members. We think it will help implement changes if you have a group to work with so we welcome up to three from each school. Please ask if you would like more. 

We will cover the cost of relief for up to three members from one school as well as transport costs (mileage). 

We will also provide accommodation for any members from the Northland region. 

Non-members may attend with a cost ($50) which will be invoiced. 

Our next wānanga will be held in Te Waipounamu the South Island. Venue and location to be announced. We also have wānanga planned in Waikato and the lower North Island.
