Let’s Talk About Menopause
We're excited to be hosting advocate and speaker, Sarah Connor for a nation-wide webinar on Thursday 25 July at 6.00pm. Everyone can benefit from learning about menopause, so this event is open to all PPTA members to attend – regardless of age or gender.
Sarah Connor addressed our Women's Network hui at Annual Conference in 2023. Earlier this year at I&O Conference, the regional Women's Network representatives discussed hosting a webinar so that Sarah's kaupapa could be shared to a wider audience of PPTA members.
Sarah isn’t a doctor but is passionate about making menopause/ruahinetanga less taboo.
In the first part of the kōrero, Sarah will share some basic facts and figures about the various stages of menopause, her personal experience, and the path she took to get the support she needed. Everyone’s experience of perimenopause/menopause is different so she will highlight the potential changes and solutions to be aware of; some common misconceptions; the many upsides; cultural differences; some valuable tips and resources to support yourself and others.
Sarah has found that when people are given a chance to talk about menopause in a safe and respectful place, many have a lot to say! In the second part of the kōrero, you will be able to ask questions, make comments or share your ideas.
This event is open to PPTA members only. To protect everyone’s privacy, the webinar invitation cannot be shared with anyone outside of the PPTA, and the webinar will not be recorded or shared. When registering, please make sure to provide your branch details to verify your membership.
Register using the link below. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. We look forward to seeing you there!
