Teachers who started teaching in very isolated or decile one schools in the last five years may be eligible for voluntary bonding payments of up to $17,500.

Teachers who started teaching in very isolated or decile one schools in the last five years may be eligible for voluntary bonding payments of up to $17,500.

It’s recently become apparent that there could be quite a few teachers who haven’t applied for these payments because they are not aware of them.

If you are teaching in one of the eligible schools, which are very isolated or decile one you should check the Teach NZ website to see if you can receive this payment. There is an application form that you can complete in your first three years of teaching, or up to the end of your fifth year, as long as you remain teaching in an eligible school.
