NETs news December 2016

Hope that you have had a successful end of year, and that you are starting to hear the sounds of a relaxing summer break roaring towards you!

There are just a couple of things to let you know so that you can do some advance planning.

1. NETs Conference

Organisation of this is now progressing. There are a few changes to the original plans but here are the details:

Date: 18-20th April 2017

Timing: Registration from 1pm on 18th April and finished by 12pm on 20th.

Venue: Blues Skies Conference and Training Centre (this differs from the original plan as St Bede’s was unavailable). This venue is in Kaiapoi.

Cost: Free to members ($500 for non-members). This includes two nights’ accommodation, meals, etc. You will need to find your own funding for travel, which may come from your school, branch or region.

2. Election to Establishing Teachers’ Committee

The process for this has changed to bring it into line with other PPTA committees. Members will be able to apply for advertised positions. These positions will be staggered, and for terms of two years. The final decision as to who is on the committee will be made by the president and GS. They will consider things such as geographical distribution, gender balance and continuity of membership of the committee. There will also be Executive and Te Huarahi reps.

PPTA National office closes from Friday 16th December until Monday 16th January. Take care and have a great break.
